Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began studying marine sciences at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her career in the commercial seafood industry in 1999 when she began working on board the F/V Sunset the 65' halibut schooner turned to salmon tender with Murat Aritan, a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard who is engaged to Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their businesses. Both are advocates of saving and profiting from sustainable resources within the seafood industry. Otolith is directly wholesale distribution of seafood which was founded in Philadelphia in 2007, by a now-mother of two children, Bella aged 3, and Andre age 1. The name of the company is a loving reminder of her intimate understanding of fish biology and her husband's lengthy involvement in the seafood industry often keeping them from each other for 5 months or more at a time as they work towards financial and environmental goals which are a reflection of their individuality and determination to serve their communities wherever they reside.
